Attorney General Announces The National Mortgage Settlement

The National Mortgage Settlement is the largest consumer financial settlement in the United States history. The settlement concludes investigations relating to mortgage servicing abuse and abuse in the bankruptcy process, these investigations were state and federal level. On February 9th, 2012, The Attorney General announced that 49 states as well as the federal government had reached an agreement with the nations five largest mortgage service institutions who had abusive practices in regards to mortgage servicing, foreclosure and bankruptcy.
